What is School Readiness? School readiness is the measure of skills and behaviours the child has developed that enable them to participate and succeed in school. School readiness does not only refer to academic ( literacy and numeracy ) skills but the overall developmental skills of your child — their social, emotional, play, physical-motor, communication and cognitive skills. Is my child a candidate? Early identification can save parents and teachers a lot of headaches and heartache. The difference between intervening correctly and otherwise — has outcomes that are vastly different.
